The coverage checklist
The checklist is a list of the areas a site usually needs covered. Tag each camera with what it covers and the list ticks itself off, so nothing gets missed.
The starting list
Open the Checklist tab on the left. A new map starts with typical items, such as:
- Site entrance(s) — vehicle overview
- Entry / exit lanes — license plates (LPR)
- Registers / payment points — faces
- Building entrances and exits
- Parking areas, loading docks, equipment rooms, the perimeter fence line, and gates
Fueling-station sites get extra items for dispensers, the canopy, the compressor and similar areas.
Tag cameras with what they cover
- Click a camera on the map.
- In its panel, find Covers (coverage checklist).
- Click each item this camera covers. Click again to remove it.
Back in the Checklist tab, each item shows "Covered by" and the camera names, or "Not covered yet".
Make the list your own
- + Add item: type something that must be covered, for example "Dumpster area".
- Click the box next to an item to mark it covered by hand, for example when an existing camera covers it.
- Click ✕ on an item to remove it from this map.
Where it shows up
- With nothing selected, the right panel's site overview shows how many items are covered, for example 6/9.
- The Schedule and the CSV list what each camera covers.
- Each camera's page in the PDF lists what it covers.
Let SightLine suggest cameras
- Open the Smart ✨ tab and tick Camera suggestions.
- Click Suggest now. SightLine proposes cameras for entrances, lanes (plates), payment points (faces), equipment, gates and fences that aren't covered yet, using your pinned models first.
- Suggestions appear in purple on the map and are listed in the panel. Click Add to keep one or ✕ to skip it, or use Add all or Clear.
Added cameras are ordinary cameras: aim and adjust them like any other.
Tip For a picture of the gaps, open Smart ✨ and tick Coverage heatmap. It shades every spot by the best detail any camera gets there and marks blind spots inside your site elements.
